VISION NEEDS MORE BOARD MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS 

Vision Drum Corps needs a few more Board Members who have experience and/or expertise specifically in corporate fund raising, grant proposals, gifts receivable, art dealership, solliciting start up and maintenance monies, etc... We are also looking for volunteers who have time to help with fund raising efforts, such as art exhibitions and art shows. Vision will be concentrating its efforts on fund raising from September to December 2010. The corps is incorporated and has applied for non-charitable status. Please contact us if you can help with any of these endeavours. Thank you.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Vision Inc. is proud to announce that Canadian Artist Fernand Labelle will be the spokesperson for Vision Corps Inc. which will officially begin its activities in the fall of 2010. Several fund raising activities will be organised in the near future.

Born in Cornwall in 1934. Studied Political Science at the University of Ottawa and at the Sorbonne in Paris. Also studied Pedagogy at the University of Montreal and at the Pedagogical Institute of Ontario. He pursued teaching as a career up until the age of 29. Drawn to the Visual Arts, he devoted al of his time to painting. He is the
recipent of many awards and prizes.

In 2010, at the age of 75, he will celebrate 50 years as a professional artist and painter.

Vision Corps will be answering inquiries all Summer long from interested staff and members and will resume rehearsals in the Fall after the competitive season. Have a safe and happy Summer!

WHAT’S NEW?
Vision' Junior Drum and Bugle Corps will host an Open Door on Sunday, March 28th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at our rehearsal site located on the second floor of the old Ste-Famille School (687 Laurier Avenue) in Clarence-Rockland. Welcome to everyone (parents, friends, volunteers, futur members) interested in knowing more about this project. On site registration will also be accepted this Sunday and on every Sunday starting April 11th. If you think it is too late to be part of a competitive corps for the 2010 season, think again! Because of a partnership with an existing corps, Vision members

WHAT’S NEW?
With the support of the city of Clarence-Rockland, a new junior drum and bugle corps has been founded in Eastern Ontario. Going by the name of 'Vision', the corps will begin a massive recruitment campaign in the local schools and area in February, 2010. Rehearsals will also begin at the end of February. Anyone interested in this project is invited to contact us at the following address;

Vision is up and running again!
Any youth wishing to participate are invited to register in March (watch for the date soon), either via e-mail (
info@vision-corps.org) or in person at our rehearsal hall (697 Laurier, Rockland, Ontario). This year (2011) will serve as an introduction to the Drum Corps activity. Rehearsals will take place every Sunday, in Rockland, and a one week tour is organized for the start of July, 2011 in the Boston, U.S.A. region. No experience necessary!

Recruting Corps Director and Membership to F.A.M.Q.
Vision Inc. is proud to be associated with the 'Fédération des associations musicales du Québec' (F.A.M.Q.) which has undergone a major restructuring process this year. In fact, we are becoming members of this provincial association for the first time in 2011. We would also have liked to become members of the Ontario Drum Corps Association (O.D.C.A.) but, unfortunately, this association no longer exists. On another note, Vision's operations are going well and we are now in the process of looking for a Corps Director. Production Manager Appointment
The Board of Administration of Vision Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Maureen Hamilton to the position of Production Manager. Mrs. Hamilton brings with her many years of experience within the activity, notably as a past member of the Crossmen and also as an instructor for CYE. We are confident that her democratic style and her management abilities will make her an undisputed assett to the corps. Mrs. Hamilton will be present at the information session on February 27th at 1:00 p.m. and looks forward to meeting you all!

Vision is now officially starting its 2011 recruting campaign.  You will  hear about us in the Clarence-Rockland schools', in the regional  newspapers, on local television and on the radio.  Our activities will start Sunday, April 3rd at the old Ste-Famille School, 687 Laurier Street in Rockland. Welcome to all!

WHAT’S NEW?
Vision Corps is proud to announce that we have sufficient members to begin percussion rehearsals. The eager drummers have not wasted any time in expressing their interest at getting under way. Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons at the Old School Ste-Famille on Laurier Avenue in Rockland. Membership is still open in all sections to anyone from the Ottawa or Clarence-Rockland Region. Staff is always on site to accept new registration forms. Please see the website for more details (i.e. rehearsal dates and times, fees and payment schedule, etc...)
